Mystery 2 Clock Tower Voices with Giannis Vogiatzis

The most important political treatise of Greek pre-revolutionary Enlightenment, Hellenic Nomarchy: a Discourse on Freedom, by Anonymous the Greek, a text that announced the Greek Revolution, will be performed live by the great actor Giannis Vogiatzis, under the city Clock in the imposing Archaeological site of Elefsina.

Little Amal comes to Elefsina!

2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture welcomes Amal, the nine-year-old refugee from Syria, the city’s coastal front, on Wednesday, September 1 at 19:30. After Chios, Ioannina, Trikala and Larissa, little Amal, the 3.5-meter-tall puppet, comes to Elefsina, to shed light on the stories of millions of displaced refugee children, many of whom have been separated from their families, and to send a message of hope, which is exactly what her name means in Arabic.

Eight dancers from Africa, the world’s oldest and most mystical continent, take us on a journey to the ancient roots of Dance and our deepest selves. The internationally renowned choreographer, Josef Nadj, visits Elefsina and presents the performance “OMMA”, demonstrating that “dance was born along with humanity”.

Leading French choreographer Julie Desprairies returns to Elefsina and creates a two-kilometer choreographic walk on the city’s inactive railway lines, with the participation of residents and local cultural associations.

Mystery 2 Clock Tower Voices with Lydia Koniordou

One of Angelos Sikelianos’ most important poems, the Sacred Way and excerpts from one of his rarest works, the Elefsinian Testament, will be performed live by renowned actress Lydia Koniordou, under the Clock in the emblematic Archaeological Site of Elefsina.

Mystery 25 Spring Forward

From Thursday, April 28, to Sunday, May 1, in Elefsina, 2023 Εleusis European Capital of Culture, in collaboration with the art organization DAN.C.CE UNITIVA and the European platform Aerowaves, is hosting Spring Forward.
