15th Cycling Ride and Open Discussion: Cycling and Sustainable Urban Mobility in 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture

On Sunday, November 21, 2021, the Elefsina Cycling Group and the Elefsina Sustainable Urban Mobility Group host the 15th Cycling Ride, as well as an Open Discussion on “Cycling and Sustainable Urban Mobility in Eleusis 2023 European Capital of Culture,” in collaboration with Eleusis 2023 European Capital of Culture and the Youth Lab workshop.

COVID – We are staying safe

-Cyclists must always carry a face mask, which they are advised to wear when not cycling.
-Each participating cyclist is responsible for the good condition of their bike and the provision of the required equipment.
-Cyclists participate solely at their own responsibility, while those accompanying minors are solely responsible for the minors they are accompanying.
-The use of a helmet is compulsory for children and recommended for adults.
-Cyclists may also enter in other points along the route.
-There will be a first aid kit. In case a participating cyclist is a doctor, they are kindly requested to contact ECoC 2023.
-Adults accompanying children up to 10 years of age are advised to make sure that the young cyclists are able to cope with the length of the route and that they have the appropriate size bicycle.
-For the Open Discussion, participants must have a vaccination certificate or rapid test, and self-test for children.

Mystery 178 Collecting flowers with her girlfriends

From 29 March to 8 April, 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture presents in the foyer of Cine Eleusis Cultural Centre Mystery 178 Collecting flowers with her girlfriends, an exhibition dedicated to the flora of the Archaeological Site of Elefsina, created by the artist Violeta Diamanti-Meletiou and the teacher Irini Yovanou.


Mystery 197 Paper World - A Letter about Elefsina

From April 13th to April 16th, 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture presents an exhibition with artistic creations by Nicoletta Granitsa (aka Magemeli, a name that is inspired by the “alchemical” society of bees), under the title: Mystery 197 Paper World – A Letter to Eleusis, at the Canteen – Art Hub.


PILOT CITIES

Presentation of the results of the 2nd self-assessment workshop of the international participatory planning programme Pilot Cities. The residents of Elefsina define the position of culture in their city today
as well as the priorities for tomorrow.


Mystery 14 Human Requiem In Eleusis

World premiere of the film by French filmmaker Stephan Talneau for the homonymous performance in the archaeological site of Elefsina, directed by Jochen Sandig and choreographed by Sasha Waltz, in the presence of its creators.
