Mystery 66 Voices in the city | CULTTERRA

Cultterra is a group of young people with love and vision for Eleusis, which was created in 2019 with the initiative, support, training, and networking of the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture.

Creating a new, common space for reflection and advocacy, exchanging opinions and ideas, its members, through a series of actions and events initiative, as well as their continuous evolution through European networks, training programs, and their multifaceted participation in the projects of the ECoC, have managed to highlight the voices of young people, primarily from their own city, to promote the work of young artists from the local community, to develop skills and collaborations, to create a safer, more humane, and engaging field of action within the community itself, as well as a dynamic, constantly evolving cultural scene in the area. The team’s vision is to establish a Community Center that will function as a space for the creation, expression, and employment of the city’s youth.

The team operates in ARKOPOLIS, created by the Belgian collective TimeCircus as part of the deposit project Mystery 99 THE ARK and in collaboration with them, enriches and activates the park systematically as a place of meeting, collaboration, inclusion, and free creation, bringing together communities of all ages.

Cultterra’s indicative actions include highlighting the need for a skate, roller, and BMX park for both young and old people, organizing the first Pride at Thriasio Plain and establishing an annual Queer celebration, the action ‘Meet and Greet: Mapping artists of the Thriasio Plain area’, the ‘Thirstdays’ project with exhibitions of young artists, film screenings, etc., the ‘Station Cafe’, monthly meetings between young and older residents of the city, the ‘Γνωριmeet the locals’ at the Old Railway Station with the first individual exhibitions of local community artists, celebratory events at ARKOPOLIS, and more.

Mystery 66 Voices in the city is an action deposit of the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture. They are the active citizens of tomorrow shaping the content and structures of culture as a means of sustainable development of Eleusis after the end of the Cultural Capital. They represent its future.
