Mystery 197 Paper World – A Letter about Elefsina

The artworks were created from the communication material of the Mysteries-actions that have taken place and continue to happen in Elefsina, as parts of the artistic programme of 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture. In a world that rapidly mutates from poetic to digital, everything started with some flowers made of paper, a material that is one of the greatest discoveries in the world history. Like every creative journey, Mystery 197 Paper World moves from imagination to implementation by drawing inspiration from recyclable and non-materials, in order to offer new visual dimensions. 

Self-determination in every form of art and poetry as a personal path connects the adult with the inner child, allowing space and time for the extraction of innate joy. The purpose is creation for creation’s sake, just as the world was molded. Thus, trees, ships, creatures, shapes found their suspension over randomly scattered flowers of Persephone, small texts, words, fragments, collages-mixed techniques, motifs, musical chimneys with rain sounds, spheres of crumpled notes, red threads, a glass of paper travels. All in constant dialogue. A magical universe, a paper celebration emphasizing on the value of face-to-face encounter and the uniqueness in everything, reminding us that every end inevitably leads to a new beginning.
