Mystery 96 Chóres

Choral arrangements of traditional melodies from all corners of the Greek world, written by distinguished composers such as Nikos Kypourgos, Alkis Baltas, Lajos Bárdos, Philippos Tsalahouris etc., are mixed with new arrangements created by Telis Dimitrakopoulos especially for the ensemble Chóres of Elefsina, based on folk songs of the communities. Founded in October 2022 in the context of Mystery 96 Chóres of 2023 Eleusis, with its main pillars of education, performance and the creation of a community of artists with a broad artistic education, the ensemble Chóres of Elefsina during its first year makes use of the methodology developed for the ensemble Chóres of Athens and approaches this diverse repertoire with the fresh and unconventional perspective that characterises the steadily rising course of this unique ensemble, illuminating traditional musical material in contemporary, unexpected ways.
