On Thursday 6 July 2023 Eleusis Cultural Capital of Europe presents Post Scriptum, the third meeting of Mystery 93 Xilíki at the Old Oil Mill Factory Parking. A dramatised staged reading on seizure and absence as an event and experience.
Three actors, Ioanna Pappa, Alkis Panagiotidis, and Andreas Mandas, recite the original text written specially for the performance in a symbolic language inspired by the Archetypes as well as symbols ancient and modern, touching on such universal and timeless themes as the pain of loss, alienation, loneliness, the redemption of dreaming. It is as if they are conducting a séance in the present, their narration sending the thread of history at once to the past and the future.
Facing them and musically accompanying the narration are the legend of the British scene, bassist, composer and producer, Jah Wobble together with Tian, the traditional Chinese music group created by the sons of John & Charlie Wardle. And while the spectators stand and watch in the space created between the two groups of artists, the ancient children’s game of XILÍKI
that gave its name to the action is played unseen. It is worth noting that this is the first time in Greece that such an important artist of the international scene as Jah Wobble participates in a theatrical performance and plays live original music.
