More Information about Mystery 93 Xilíki
Humans are the only beings who comprehend and feel time: the passage of moments, the qualitative leaps, the dialectics of continuity/discontinuity, entropy and everything that fights against it. The Amor Omnia ensemble presents Xilíki in Elefsina, a modular project comprised of separate actions linked by a creative/artistic reflection on Time and its negation, on Seizure and Absence. Each individual module of the project is autonomous, while conversing with the historical level of time represented by the site of Elefsina. Seven actions – a number which is always prominent when it comes to mystery and metaphysics.
The project starts with the poet Antonis Tsokos, who organizes poetry readings by schoolchildren of Elefsina in cafe of the city. The architect Giorgos Triantafyllou discusses the effect of time on the conception and construction of buildings. The poet and translator George-Icaros Babassakis dresses up as Amphitryon and invites major poets, writers and visual artists to debate the meaning of art today. Doctor George Theocharis initiates us into narrative medicine.
The actions conclude with Xilíki, a staged reading, in which Andreas Mandas and Tina Pappas, with the participation of actors and musicians, are inspired by selected fragments of works by various people on the dialectics of Absence and Seizure.
