The general Umbrella Theme for 2018 is the “Traditional and Local Knowledge as Heritage”. In 2018, Sweden is the Honoured Country with the support of the Swedish Institute at Athens.
Traditional and local knowledge is the most dynamic expression of human activity at multiple levels. This dynamic, intellectual complex necessitates special managerial tools for future safeguarding. The framework of free market related to heritage management is widely used in everyday life, but few comprehend their essential role. The conference aims to clarify the sensitive and controversial subject of intangible cultural heritage by theoretical and practical approaches.
HerMa Conference’s goal is to strengthen the field of cultural heritage management, as well as to empower the networking skills of cultural organizations, professionals and researchers working in the field of Cultural Heritage.
Within the framework of co-operation of the 5th International Conference on Heritage Management with Eleusis 2021 European Capital of Culture, 15 scholarships are offered to cultural professionals living in Eleusis and the wider region of West Attica.
Interested parties should send a short letter (max 200 words) at herma@heritagemanagement.org by Thursday 20/9/2018, explaining their interest in the conference, as well as stating their full name, telephone number and place of residence. The subject of the email should be: HerMa Conference_Scholarships/Eleusis 2021. The successful candidates will be notified by telephone on Thursday 20/9.
