The retrospective exhibition of the distinguished Greek photographer Spyros Poros, titled “Imprint 30”, continues with great success until 21 December at the Old Oil Mill Factory of Elefsina, co-organized with 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture. On Friday 19 December at 19:00, an open guided tour for the public will take place, during which the acclaimed photographer will present selected works from three decades of uninterrupted artistic creation.
At the exhibition, visitors discover human stories, ritual practices, and snapshots of everyday activities that highlight the diversity and dynamism of the human experience. Through emblematic series the viewer travels through the world loved and captured by Spyros Poros: dreamlike states, faces carrying centuries of stories, and moments of everyday life transformed into poetry through the lens.
Faces from the streets of Egypt and Argentina, iconic portraits—such as Jennifer Lopez at the Acropolis and Harvey Keitel in New York—the bodies of dancers from the Cuban National Ballet, and flowers transformed into sculptures all come together in this rich visual journey.
“For thirty years I have held the camera like a diary. Every click is a page of my life and of the life of this world I walked through,” says the photographer.
Spyros Poros has shaped his aesthetic language through a continuous search for beauty, wherever it may be found. He highlights the sensuality of the human body without lyrical excess, while capturing the struggle for survival without exoticism. The exhibition presents the art of Spyros Poros’ photography in a systematic and well-documented way, along with its international resonance, creating a complete mosaic of the themes and approaches that have defined his career.
