ONE LAND, MANY LANDS
NEW VIDEOS RELEASED EVERY MONDAY AND THURSDAY

2023 Eleusis welcomes November with the documentary series One Land, Many Lands, dedicated to the local Associations of Elefsina, produced by elc productions. This series of 25 mini-documentaries is the result of research and documentation on the collective experiences of individuals who have shaped the identity of Elefsina through their traditions and personal journeys. Among these are stories of people who once left their homeland and united their lives to create a new place from scratch. Two new videos from the series will be released every Monday and Thursday on the digital communication channels of 2023 Eleusis.

MYSTERY 20 PERFORMING ARTS INITIATOR – NARRATIVE ARCHAEOLOGY
CINE ELEUSIS

On Friday 22 November, a screening of the film documentation of Mystery 20 Performing Arts Initiator – Narrative Archaeology will take place at Cine Eleusis. This documentary delves into the work and methodology developed during this project, which culminates in a site-specific, guided performance within the emblematic Archaeological Site of Elefsina.

Why does one visit an archaeological site? What are we searching for there?

In search of the hidden narrative within the given Archaeological Site, Narrative Archaeology is introduced as a methodological project highlighting the ways that Performing Arts can enhance the interactive experience of archaeological sites. Supported by the Ephorate of Antiquities of West Attica.

FROM 2 – 30 NOV
FABRIKAGE
OLD TOWN HALL OF ELEFSINA

From 2 to 30 November, the Old Town Hall of Elefsina will host the multimedia exhibition Fabrikage, organized by the Cultterra youth team. The project is the result of collaboration among artists and cultural workers from the three 2023 European Capitals of Culture: Elefsina, Veszprém, and Timișoara. In their quest to find common ground across their geographic features and histories, they encountered something that had been there from the beginning: the industry that has shaped their cities, ecosystems and surrounding communities. The exhibition will close with a big party on 30 November at the Old Oil Mill Factory.

OPEN STATION – OPEN COMMUNITY
OLD RAILWAY STATION OF ELEFSINA

The Open Station – Open Community project, presented by Cultterra at the Old Railway Station of Elefsina in September, will continue in November with new events every Thursday at 19:00. Unique gatherings with music, films, improvisations, collective cooking, and artistic workshops come together to transform the space into a vibrant hub of culture, creativity, and interaction. Additionally, the team, in another collaboration with Mystery 37 Voices of Elefsina, the city’s online community radio, will launch/present the show “Cultterra Frequency” in November. More details will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Mystery 59 U(R)TOPIAS Academy of Choreography, under the artistic direction of Patricia Apergi in collaboration with Aerites Dance Company, began its fourth year in Elefsina with great momentum. The first intensive week of workshops took place, where participating choreographers attended seminars by invited mentors from Greece and abroad. Additionally, the artists’ residencies in Elefsina have begun, providing an opportunity for deeper exploration of their choreographic work and connection with the city. The six selected choreographers participating in the programme are: Antonis Vais, Mary Giannoula, Elina Demirtzioglou, Nefeli Theodotou, Dimitris Baltas, and Angelos Papadopoulos. The year will conclude in the summer of 2025 with a site-specific performance in Elefsina’s public spaces.

Mystery 20 Performing Arts Initiator – Narrative Archaeology, Mystery 59 U(R)TOPIAS Academy of Choreography and the project One Land, Many Lands are realised in the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
