2nd Open Educational Meeting
Τitle: «Experts discuss with citizens about the quality of life in Elefsina»

What does the quality of a person’s life depend on? This fundamental, holistic question arises very often in the daily life of all of us, when we ask ourselves about our lives and choices, when we judge political events, when we assess the social parameters around us and more broadly. The World Health Organisation defines quality of life as an individual’s perception of his or her own position in life, which is shaped in the context of the culture and value systems of the society in which he or she lives and in relation to his or her goals, expectations, standards and concerns. It is a broad concept that is influenced in a complex way by the individual’s physical health, psychological state, personal beliefs, social relationships and relationship with important features of his or her environment (THE WHOQOL GROUP 1995).

A vibrant discussion in the community of the Mystery 7 Free University of Elefsina – In Situ action between trainers and trainees highlighted water and air quality, industrial accidents and accessibility in the city as the most crucial and important parameters that affect the quality of life in the urban fabric of the city of Elefsina.
