Children will have the chance to be guided at Eleourgio space where the site-specific installation of Danae Stratou “Upon the Earth Under the Clouds” is held and follow a route that leads to 1,000 ceramic pots full of water.
The workshop is structured in 3 stages and includes the following:
-children’s contact with the art of site-specific installations,
-the interpretation of the installation “Upon the Earth Under the Clouds” through the eyes of Danae Stratou and the city’s myths,
-the physical experiencing of the installation with the ears, nose, skin, muscles when the fingers, steps and elbows are to be used as a ruler.
Children are invited to wander around the space and find “their own home” among the 1,000 installed ceramic pots. By using their bodies as a ruler, they detect the ceramic pots and mark it on the map/plan of the installation. Based on that, they narrate their personal memories or thoughts referred to the idea of residence using words and images.
During the workshops, the project’s map with the 1,000 ceramic pots will be accessible to the online users who will be able to read the children’s stories by clicking on the active points of the map. The aim is to collect 1,000 stories, one for each ceramic pot.
