On the occasion of the start of the new school year,
2023 Eleusis distributed school supplies to the students of 14 primary schools in Elefsina and Magoula
Continuing its educational, research and artistic activities, 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture is organizing a series of actions addressed to the local community of Elefsina and the wider region. In this context, on Monday, September 12, it welcomed the students of all 14 Primary Schools in Elefsina and Magoula during the traditional blessing ceremony, distributed school supplies, informed them about its work, as well as the possibilities of participation in the ECoC’s actions.
2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, with the contribution of the Municipality of Elefsina, distributed bags, notebooks, pencils and school planners, bringing smiles to the students’ faces. Specifically, 2,200 gifts were distributed to the 14 primary schools of Elefsina and Magoula. The Mayor of Elefsina, Mr. Argyris Economou, was present and wished all the students a happy new season, as well as strength for the new academic year.
2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, this great celebration of culture, was started by the great Melina Merkouri. Since 1985, the ECoC institution has been traveling to all European countries, and this year it is hosted in one of the most important cities of antiquity, Elefsina. The center of the Eleusinian Mysteries and the birthplace of Aeschylus, the driving industrial force of Greece in its modern history until today, celebrates culture and presents more than 100 events during the title year, 2023, filling the city with dance, music, theater and educational programs for people of all ages.
