Beach front
The Nymphs, exactly one year after Mystery 0 Mysteries of Transition – Opening Ceremony, unexpectedly appear on the city’s waterfront. At the same time, training boats of the Elefsina Nautical Club search for the mythical entity at the bottom of the Elefsinian Gulf. A short performance – tribute to the Leaving Daughter, which will take place from 12.00 to 16.00, with cinematography by Konstantinos Rigos and costume design by Olga Karaververi.

Cine Eleusis
Mystery 7 Free University of Elefsina – IN SITU, the innovative educational programme established by the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture in collaboration with the University of Patras, completes its first year of successful operation. In this context, on Tuesday 6 February, the Award Ceremony of Training & Attendance Certificates of the participants of the programme will take place at the Cine Eleusis.

A series of discussions on the dynamic evolution of the city’s cultural life, the activation of community groups in specific directions of art and research, and the possibilities of exploiting the various categories of heritage created in the context of Elefsina’s development as European Capital of Culture will take place at the Old Town Hall.

On Sunday 11 February, the public will have one last opportunity to browse the art exhibitions Mystery 111 Eleusis Terracotta Army by Juan Esteban Sandoval, Mystery 151 A Rave Down Below curated by Panos Giannikopoulos, Mystery 87 I My Sea Journey, I My Land Claim by Stefania Strouza and Mystery 8 Eyes on Japan by Antonis Theodoridis. The four exhibitions will be open from 13.00 to 20.00, while during the day, the creators of the projects – internationally renowned artists from Greece and abroad – will present their work and they will talk to the public.

As part of World Radio Day, the city’s Internet Radio Station, Mystery 37 Voices of Elefsina, is organizing an open event, broadcasting live from its base, the Old Railway Station, with a rich program of live broadcasts, news, music, readings, dedications but also…experiments. In addition, with special guests from the field of radio, the creative team, all residents from Elefsina and the wider region, will convey experiences, thoughts and stories about their engagement with this beloved medium.

Cine Eleusis
Mysterio 107 Persephone, a journey across the borders of contemporary opera, cinematic opera and theater with music composed by Dimitris Maragopoulos and conceived, libretto and directed by Elli Papakonstantinou, after its sold out world premiere at Megaro Musikis, comes to Cine Eleusis for two unique performances. The pre-sale will begin on Wednesday, February 7.

Mystery 112: Maria Papadimitriou Dual Theatre Or On Friendship, the project by the distinguished artist Maria Papadimitriou, continues until Wednesday 29 February. A series of open fiction art workshops for -and with- the residents of Elefsina. At the ELEOURGIKI Industrial Complex, young and older participants acquire knowledge, experience, skills and awareness of the wide range of practices and techniques related to the production of works of art.

The cultural space Cine Eleusis, after its first activation as part of the action Mystery 1:Ending: Opening, a Ceremony and the Documentary Festival In Situ Realities, hosts a program of screenings of documentaries produced by 2023 Eleusis and other films/film works.
