This modern, 900-square-metre multi-purpose venue was opened by 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture to host events of various kinds, and with various requirements: dance and theatre performances, visual arts events, screenings, workshops, and numerous other activities. Together with the Old Oil Mill Factory, the Leonidas Kanellopoulos Exhibition Centre, and the Old Canteen, the X – Bowling Art Center forms part of a multi-purpose network of cultural venues set along the city waterfront. The Municipality of Elefsina decided to take action, leasing and renovating this private property to overcome a lack of cultural infrastructure of this size, and on account of the feasibility of its delivery within the set time constraints.
Mystery 178 Collecting flowers with her girlfriends
From 29 March to 8 April, 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture presents in the foyer of Cine Eleusis Cultural Centre Mystery 178 Collecting flowers with her girlfriends, an exhibition dedicated to the flora of the Archaeological Site of Elefsina, created by the artist Violeta Diamanti-Meletiou and the teacher Irini Yovanou.
