Eleusina no longer keeps secrets : Cultterra team organizes a pride in Elefsina – postponed

Cultterra team organizes for the second consecutive year a pride in Elefsina!

MYSTERY 66 VOICES IN THE CITY

A group of young people with a vision for Elefsina, which was formed in 2019 with the support, training and the networking of the 2023 Elefsis European Capital of Culture, created a new “space” for the voices of young people to be heard. A common space for reflection and exchange of views and ideas from all over the world and for young people in the region.

In Cultterra, the issues of the LGBTQI+ community are particularly important. After all, it is about celebrating diversity, accepting individuality and ensuring that everyone has the freedom to love and express themselves authentically. The group’s support towards the LGBTQ community also enriches society by fostering a sense of empathy. For this reason, just like last year, this year, on the occasion of the “pride month” and the events that take place in other cities in Greece, they continue with the second pride event!

“Pride” is an international celebration, in which various events and actions take place, aiming to raise and bring to light issues that concern LGBTQI+ people, but mainly to help them to assert their rights more and to send important messages of hope to current and future generations.

The time has come for the LGBTQI+ community to feel free not to hide themselves, so that they don’t detach from that part of their personalities. Youth team Cultterra, members of which belong themselves to the LGBTQI+ community, initiates a greater and more open celebration.

A two-day pride festival for all, to celebrate, discuss, come together and break down the division: “them and us”. So whether you are LGBTQI+ or not, you can go and take part in the discussions and everything else that will be at the two-day pride festival.

The aim is to break taboos and for all people to break out of their comfort zone. This is exactly what prompted the name of the event. And the answer to the enduring question: “Is there an LGBTQI+ community in Triassic Field?” is…yes! Yes, there is and Cultterra is  here to prove it, not hidden this time!

The program consists of workshops and performances by the local creative people of the area, a relaxed picnic with speeches and distinguished guests.

A detailed schedule will be posted soon. Stay tuned!
