The Opening Ceremony and the official start of the artistic program of the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture will take place in Elefsina, on Saturday 4/2 and Sunday 5/2. Below you will find detailed access instructions to Elefsina for Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Traffic arrangements only for Saturday 4/2
From 07:00 to 24:00 the traffic of vehicles is interrupted:
a) on Kanellopoulou street from Mourikis street to the entrance of the TITAN factory
b) on Ionos Dragoumi Street from Bouboulinas Street to the entrance of the Old Olive Oil.
In order not to create traffic problems, the descent of the vehicles stops at the height of Harilaou Street.
From 15:00 until 19:00 the entry of vehicles will be suspended in the entire area enclosed by Dimitros, Iroon Polytechniou, Iera Odos, Mourikis, Kanellopoulou streets. Ceremony processions will move in this area.

Free travel with 2023 Eleusis buses
From and to the center of Athens (Old Railway Station O.S.Y., Ermou & Piraeus):
Departure at 17:00 with necessary pre-booking here until Friday 3/2 until seats are sold out. Return at 22:00 and 02:00.
To and from Agia Marina Metro Station
Round route from 17:00 to 18:00 (every 15 minutes) and from 20:00 to 00:00 (every 30 minutes).
Public transport
By bus (lines 845 and 871 from Piraeus, 876 from “Ag. Marina” metro station and 878 from Acharnes)
By suburban train (stop “Magoula” and then by bus 863)
By KTEL (line Megara – Nea Peramos – Elefsina, starting from Asomaton Square in Thisio)
ACCESS BY VEHICLE
For those who have book entry passes for the coastal front (19:00) and/or the Stereo Nova concert (21:30), there will be a parking lot (P1) with a limited number of spaces. Pre-booking is required here.
From the Athens-Corinthian Road
Entrance to Elefsina from Entrance A towards Iera Odos. At a distance of 900 meters, turn onto Okeanidon Street. In about 650 meters on the left is the parking lot P1.
From Athens via Attica Road
Exit 1 towards Elefsina. In 450 meters turn left towards Olympia Odos heading towards Athens. In about 2.5 km turn right towards Elefsina Air Base heading towards Okeanidon Street. In about 650 meters on the left is the parking lot P1.
From Corinth via Olympia Road
From Exit 1 of the Olympia road towards Mandra and Elefsina in the direction of Athens. In about 2.5 km, turn right towards Elefsina Air Base, heading straight towards Oceanidon Street. In about 650 meters on the left is the parking lot P1.
From Corinth via the Old National Road
At the roundabout on Iroon Polytechniou street, turn left towards Mandra-Thebes. In about 950 meters, at the intersection of Olympia Street, turn right in the direction of Athens. In about 2.5 km, turn right towards Elefsina Air Base, heading straight towards Oceanidon Street. In about 650 meters on the left is the parking lot P1.
Movement from the parking area to the O1 and O2 spectator areas
OASA buses make round routes up to Kanellopoulou Street. From this point, due to the emergency arrangements, the distance to the main event is approximately 1 km. From the parking area to the main event area, a travel time of approximately 30 minutes is required.
