Revisiting the Eleusinian mysteries in dialogue with the Archeological Site of Eleusis.
2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture announces an open call for artists from the field of visual arts in public space (installation, video art, performance, sculpture, etc.). The 3rd edition of the artist-in-residence program, is titled Mystery 19 Visual Arts Initiator III – But Don’t Tell Anyone will take place in two phases, in May and October 2023. The selected artists are invited to stay in the city, experiment and conceive a site responsive project, revisiting the Eleusinian mysteries in dialogue with the Archeological Site and the Archaeological Museum of Elefsina, under the guidance and supervision of the internationally acclaimed curator Joanna Warsza and five fellow artists.
