MORE INFORMATION

The Mystery 20 Performing Arts Initiator – Narrative Archaeology seeks to answer two basic questions:
Why does one visit an archaeological site today?
What does one seek there?

This work in progress is governed by the following principles:
Every archeological site is a performance of Hades [or a performance of Νekya]
Every archeological site is full of ghosts and shadows
Every archeological site is a theater of human history
Every archeological site is a narrative silence
Every archeological site is an encryption of a narration
Every visitor is Odysseas who visits the site of the shadows.

With the contribution of the Performing Arts, this innovative project explores the secret Narrative of the specific archaeological landscape, each time seeking to transform archaeological information into an experience for the visitor. Through movement, sound, music or new media, in this “performance of the narrative” the characters guide the audience on a visit to the silent presence of the Past as a living body.

Τhe project is an Action of Legacy of 2023 Eleusis and continues after the end of the institution as methodology – model, applicable to the inexhaustible archaeological wealth both on national and European level.
