19:00
The youth group Cultterra introduces the project Thirstdays. The title is a pun on the English words “Thursday”, the day of the weekly meeting of the group, and “thirst”, symbolising the thirst of the city’s young people for art and culture. The themes of the project range from the most informal activities to the most formal and open to the public events.
In April, the following activities will take place: meet the 2023: Martha Frintzila, Anchorage: film screening, meet the locals: Elpida Chatzinikolaou.
20/4 Easter Thursday Araxovolin: film screening
Cultterra members satisfy their weekly thirst for fun on Thursdays, chatting, playing board games, watching movies – not just cult movies – playing or playing music, relaxing and getting closer to the inner sides of themselves. Ensuring an extra opportunity to get in touch with other associations of the city.
27/4 – 4/5 Meet the locals: Elpida Chatzinikolaou
They get to know the young artists of the city, who are mainly in the early stages of their careers, through their solo exhibitions at the Old Railway Station. This month the work of Elpida Hadjinicolaou is being hosted.
Elpida Hatzinikolaou was born in 1998 in Athens. In 2018 she was the first to be admitted to the School of Fine Arts of Panormos Tinos, where she learned how to sculpt and express her ideas in marble. In 2021 she received a scholarship to the Athens School of Fine Arts where she is currently studying sculpture. In the past years he has been living in Mandra and working in Elefsina. The issues raised through her works have an experimental and mainly woman-centred character, as she is concerned with the issue of women both as a gender and as a social role-position. She tries to influence the images by expressing her feelings and asking questions based on them.
