The Belgian Art Collective Timecircus has crossed Europe with a Landship, that moves only by human energy. Their long journey, which started in Antwerp on 27th May 2022, was an exercise of being “on the road” and it is a vivid commentary on the 21st century of recession, climate change and unlimited consumption of natural resources. They arrived in Elefsina on 4th February 2023 as part of the Opening Ceremony of 2023 Eleusis to create Mystery 99 THE ARK, the Ark of eternal youth and culture, that will be a space for the young people of the city, Saturday 8 April, at 17:00.
You will have the opportunity to discover their work in an open presentation at the Old Railway Station of Elefsina, together with the youth group Cultterra.
There will be a walk of the two teams from the Old Oil Mill Factory to the point where Mystery 99 THE ARK will be established.
Then we will be waiting for you all in the garden of the Old Railway Station from 18:00 for an afternoon picnic, where everyone can bring their own snack and towel. There will be a video screening of the Timecircus diary and other surprises from the collective.
The celebration at the station will last until 22:00 and from there we will move to the local bar “Mikro Vyssino”, because this day could not end any other way but with dancing!
