Ecoculture Festival

A celebration that derives its theme from the environment, ecology and sustainability.

Based on the cityʼs special characteristics and particular features of the wider area – the history of environmental pollution due to the high concentration of industrial production and the significant work by the Municipality of Elefsina on recycling and environmental awareness – the Festival focuses on “Ecoculture”: how climate change, environmental pollution and compliance with the UNʼs 17 Sustainable Development Goals affect our daily lives. Based on this core, the festivalʼs programme develops through three forms/ modalities of exploring the environment, ecology and sustainability: Design Campus ^ (Architectural and urban design), Eco Art ^ (Contemporary art), and Green Incubator ^ (Interdisciplinary dialogue).

In addition, through a programme for all ages, the Ecoculture Festival actively creates the conditions for the introduction of new lifestyles and ownership of the city in harmony with nature and sustainability. The ultimate aim is to highlight Elefsina as an international meeting point as far as the redefinition of our relationship with the environment and sustainable development in general is concerned.
