This-Connected, art residency | Open call for participation

The Cultterra youth group of Elefsina, with the support of 2023 Eleusis, in collaboration with the visual and digital arts organization Lapsus, presents “This – Connected,” an art residency that will take place from 15 to 23 September  at the Old Railway Station of Elefsina. This project supports collaboration between European cities through the exchange of visual and conceptual creators.

The Open Call is directed at residents of Elefsina and the wider Thriasian Field who are interested in art and creation. The main theme that participants will explore and interpret is “disconnected connections.” During the project, creators from different nationalities and artistic fields will collaborate, culminating in an exhibition open to the residents of Elefsina. Within this context, the current concerns of the artists will be explored and reflected upon through the freedom of expression.

Additionally, they will have the opportunity to create connections and platforms for dialogue with other creators, while broader cultural issues of the European cities in which we work will be examined, seeking new perspectives and interpretations. Through artistic research and practice, the similarities presented by different cultures will be compared, and foreign elements will be integrated, with the freedom of choice being treated as a catalytic factor for connections.
