Mystery 149 Transition to a Climate Neutral Future

The three-day European Pupil Conference in Elefsina entitled “Transition to a Climate Neutral Future” will be attended by primary and secondary school students (10-15 years old) from schools in Elefsina, Attica, Thessaloniki, as well as from Germany and other European countries.

Contributors:

Partners: Centre for Renewable Energy Sources & Saving (CRES), in collaboration with the Directorates of Primary Education of West Attica, A’ and B’ Athens, Directorate of Secondary Education of East Thessaloniki and the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (UfU), Germany
Project Manager: Εvi Tzanakaki

The aim is to create the greatest possible interaction between the pupils of Elefsina and those of other cities in order to generate ideas for an energy efficient and climate neutral future. Both the schools’ preparatory work and the structure of the conference are based on participatory methods for empowering the pupils, bringing forth views and creating a collective vision. These methodologies can be used as best practices thereafter and shared with the wider national and European educational community, in line with the vision of sustainability served by the European Capital of Culture initiative.
