Vertical dance allows for the discovery of locations not usually used in shows, and is a way of focussing on architectural history and other associated themes. Contemporary circus, as is true of circus in general, ensures a connection is forged with all kinds of audiences – of every culture, language, and social class – to evoke and embody the fact that culture is free and for everyone. These two terms give structure to the performance: a site-specific show like an old-school yet contemporary circus without a tent, taking a building as its stage instead – a place where anything and everything can happen.
