The workshop focuses on strengthening local development with social cohesion, as well as on the coordination of integrated policies that promote sustainability, in line with the strategies of the European Union. Participants will be informed on critical issues such as preparing human resources and leveraging partnerships between civil society actors and university institutions.
The programme of the Consultative Workshop includes the following thematic sessions, with short presentations and consultation with the participants:
- Civil Society & Local Development with Social Cohesion –
Introduction and discussion on the appropriate preparation of human capital - Policies and instruments for leveraging partnerships between non-profit actors and universities –
Presentation and discussion on the experience in the Member States and in particular the Greek case
The event offers a unique opportunity for representatives of civil society, academics and executives of organisations to exchange knowledge and collaborate to find practical solutions to today’s challenges. The design and implementation of such initiatives is vital to address issues such as climate change, the fair distribution of economic benefits and the reduction of social inequalities. Through the workshop, ways in which local communities can contribute to ways of addressing by activating collaborative schemes between civil society actors and higher education institutions will be highlighted.
