will bring to the fore issues related to the management of cultural heritage in the light of the highly topical theme: “Monuments in Ruins – Ruins as Monuments”.

This theme will be explored through the five modules of the conference – theoretical approaches, legal protection of cultural goods, education, archaeological cultural landscape and local communities, technological developments – and will attempt to highlight the key issues concerning the 21st century global developments in culture, as well as the best practices that are or will have to be adopted soon in the world in the field of cultural goods management.

The conference is organised by the Heritage Management Organization, with the collaboration of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of Kent, Eleusis 2021 European Capital of Culture, Aisxylia Festival and the Municipality of Eleusis, in a city that constitutes an active example of successful exploitation of cultural and historical identity of sites and their transformation into nuclei of modern cultural expression, creation, education and social participation.
