A group of young people with a vision for the city of Elefsina, formed in 2019 with the support, training and networking of 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, created a new “space” to hear the voices of young people in the city. The Cultterra team (formerly Youth Labs), is renewed and enters a new phase, with the constant goal of highlighting through actions and events of art and culture, the talent of the creative youth of Elefsina, as well as the cultural potential of the city itself.
Cultterra’s first action took place on Sunday, April 10, in the garden of the Old Railway Station of Elefsina and was crowned with great success. With the support of the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, the group organized an introductory meeting with the young artists of Elefsina, Magoula, Mandra and Aspropyrgos. As part of the event, which included live music, dance and artistic activities, the attendees exchanged views and collaborated in the creation of an artistic network of free expression and creation.
Combining the word “cult” with inspiration from the artistic film movement of the ’70s and taking into account the characteristics that we share with it, such as the sloppiness that characterizes it at first sight but not the lower quality, with the word ” terra “which means land – something that strongly characterizes the history of Elefsina – the name of our group” Cultterra “was born. So here we come, people different from each other like the heroes in every cult movie, but with the same goals and dreams for our region.”
