Mystery 68 STALKER is a work that features walking routes and urban games co-created in partnership with the local community. Elefsina residents work with cultural heritage managers, tour guides, expert scholars, and artists so as to develop interactive experiences in the public realm that are an expression of their community, concerning various themes such as the environment, industrial archaeology, and more. Undertaking the role of the narrator, citizens invite us to partake in interactive cultural experiences set within the public landscape.
As contemporary flâneurs, the participants unfurl the city’s multiple facets and memories, and proceed to the depiction of manifold visual stimuli. The methodologies applied include artistic practices, ethnographic research and oral history, urban services and game design. This combinatory methodological approach seeks to transfigure public space into a living, creative place for local community expression, through which people can reflect on and share everything they love.
