Mystery 41 Design Campus

Mysterυ 41 Design Campus is aimed at local communities, collective initiatives, creative groups, active citizens and residents of the wider area of Elefsina and Athens, as well as students and professionals of architecture/urban planning. The first phase of the project includes the mapping of the city and its environmental problems in order in the second phase to draw up an action plan for the functional regeneration of the former OASIS campside as well as the design and implementation of small-scale infrastructures within the space.

The overall program of the action, such as its objectives and methodology, as well as the ways of participation, will be presented at the meeting. The presentation will be made by:

After the presentation, there will be an introductory walk to the OASIS area.

An inclusive urban design workshop for the creation of a Sustainable Urban Development Centre at the Oasis Former Campsite, by creatively combining the expertise of spatial design professionals (architects, urban planners) with the lived experiences and contemporary needs of the residents of Elefsina. 

The project will last about eight months and begins by mapping the city and its environmental problems, to prepare an action plan for the functional regeneration of the former campsite and the design and implementation of small-scale light infrastructure within the site. The project aims to engage residents from all backgrounds as well as students of architecture and urban planning. 

The project consists of two complementary directions:

Α. THINK TANK

A series of regular meetings, information days on selected thematic areas and actions such as: creating a collective group identity, mapping walks, days of collective implementation of vegetable gardens, insect hotel, making seed bombs and reflection – policy production.

Β. SOUL SPACE

Participatory design and infrastructure construction actions that will contribute to the transformation of the former campsite into an open urban multi-space as a venture / example of sustainable urban intervention in Elefsina.

Period of implementation: March 2022 – September 2023
