For the first time ever, farms, wineries, mills and oil presses, specializing in sustainable farming and alternative production methods, open their gates to welcome visitors and promote an ecological way of life | Register to participate here
2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, in collaboration with Med Culture and as part of the Open Farm network, organize, from September 23 to October 2, the action 2023 Eleusis Open Farm Days. Farms from the wider region of West Attica that cultivate a variety of local plant and animal products, welcome visitors in a journey to the dietary myths of Ancient Greece, Demeter, Persephone and the Eleusinian Mysteries, but also to modern dietary trends. The action 2023 Eleusis Open Farm Days is inaugurated by 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture as part of the First Ecoculture Festival ever held in Elefsina and the wider region. Mystery_50 Ecoculture Festival^ is held between September 24 and 25 at the OASIS former camping site, with the goal of showcasing Elefsina as a sustainable cultural and agrifood destination. The action 2023 Eleusis Open Farm Days features the participation of farms, wineries, mills and oil presses, producers (indicatively producing the following: barley, wheat/yeast, wine, olive oil, dried fruits, almonds, vegetables, etc.). At the same time, there will be online training workshops (webinars) & Mentoring sessions for the producers who will participate in the network, on Sustainable Agritourism, hospitality techniques, as well as the organization of events, with parallel guided tours of the respective estates. The online presentation of the selected farms on the Open Farm platform will be active throughout 2023.
