Eleusis 2021 connects the students of Eleusis with other Mediterranean countries. In collaboration with the Rowaq Al-Balqa Foundation for Arts in Jordan together with the Special Vocational Highschool of Eleusis, was held an interactive workshop under the title ‘The Environment’.
More specifically, Khaldoon Daoud, a Jordanian artist and founder of the Rowaq Al-Balqa Foundation for Arts together with the Syrian artist Adi Atassi, created a workshop with a class of students of the Special Vocational Highschool of Eleusis in collaboration with the school’s director Nausica Mpaza, the vice-director Telemachos Mousa and the teachers Lefteris Zimianitis and Malvina Pountzikoglou.
The students had the opportunity to create artworks on paper under the title “The environment” which will be exhibited in one of the classrooms of the Special Vocational Highschool of Eleusis. Students have embraced this new experience using a unique new language, the language of color, a simple language that offers strong emotions through the use of simple tools. The Foundation Rowaq Al-Balqa Foundation for Arts often uses the color language in their workshops held both in Jordan and around Europe as it is easily understood by people of any age, nationality and especially by audiences which are more difficult to reach such as people with disabilities, elderly etc.
The Foundation Rowaq Al-Balqa Foundation for Arts was founded in 1991 in the city of Fuhais, is located 15 km from the capital of Jordan, Amman. The Foundation is core to the cultural activity of the city and the aim of the foundation is to organize art exhibitions for Arab and foreign artists, restore old buildings of the city and promote issues of culture and environment through the creation of workshops with Arab and foreign artists, through publishing books and creating documentaries, concerts, exhibitions etc.
