Tale without a name, by Penelope Delta

From the novel of the same name by Penelope Delta. An art music, timeless tale, where the homeland and its sufferings are conveyed in an understandable and magical way. In the kingdom of the Fate-worshippers, Astochastos, the son of king Synetes, succeeds his father on the throne. The new king is only interested in fun and good times. And then naturally, the kingdom collapses. The vault is empty! The country is constantly borrowing and the place is being deserted. Unable to bear this situation, the king’s son decides to act. By the help of his little sister and after many adventures, he will manage to inspire faith and trust in his people so that all together will help to restore the country. The prince, as the protagonist of our story, could be the Greek young adult who finds the strength and the way to make his homeland reborn. A particularly interesting plot, which will surely entertain children, but at the same time will teach them in an indirect way, one that talks about the values of work, justice, effort, bravery, collectivity as opposed to laziness, injustice, resignation, cowardice and individualism.

The Festival Presents: The Bug & Frank the Zapper

Sfalma and Frank the Zapper with a full band, bring hiphop to the Aeschylia Festival. In the industrial area of the Old Oil Mill on the beach of Elefsina, they will present, in versions that will be heard for the first time, a program of recent and old favorite tracks from their own hiphop, which is unlike anything else on the Greek scene. The former industrial complex that will host the concert, with the harbor of Elefsina in the background, combines organically with the music that speaks of thinking, bio-wrestling, solidarity, perseverance and militancy, framed by a way of life that invites you to take a stand. So we invite you to a special concert for those who are tired of the beaten path, both in art and in everyday life.

Euripides’ Hippolytus

Katerina Evagelatos, distinguished director and Artistic Director of the Festival, returns to Epidaurus with the National Theater after Alkisti (2017), which created a special sensation. Aphrodite sets up a game of revenge and watches with a voyeuristic eye as the human species becomes the gateway to her desires. Her eye becomes our eye and the faces are getting stripped. Naked bodies convey the explosion, the desire, the lust but also the purity of the human race. A direction that dives into the wild universe of Euripides’ play, seeing it as a modern nightmare in a poetic setting, where characters struggle with their weaknesses and love is so insane that it can only be fatal. Twenty four actors and four musicians will be constantly on stage.

Mystery 113 A Celebration To Change The World

An eclectic band of artists, dancers, singers, actors, and musicians are already setting the stage for something strange on the city outskirts. Drawing inspiration from the Dada movement and the surrealist revolution, the oper(o) music theatre troupe make use of collective methods and tools with direction and purpose. They utilise techniques such as collage – the re-composition of pre-existing musical, literary, and theatrical texts, images, and actions – for the creation of a new and unified work that dreams of changing the world.
The production’s core structural concepts include immediacy, spontaneity, artistic freedom, contestation and, ultimately, breaking with any ideas and conditions that are limiting.

It is an explosion of a performance. An explosion that is personal and emotional and desperate. An explosion that is collective and funny, scathing and frightening. An explosion for change, for necessity, for the defence of poetry, love and art. An explosion packed with freedom, bursting with oxygen.
