“Transition to EUphoria” was this week the meeting point for Eleusis’s schools and people with special needs. In collaboration with the Directorate of Primary Education of Western Attica and the Association of people with special needs of Western Attica, Eleusis 2021 organized this week a series of events, through which a number of students and disabled people became co-authors of the vision “Transition to Euphoria”.
More specifically, Eleusis 2021 in collaboration with teachers of primary education organized at the Old Oil Factory of Eleusis an all-day event together with the primary schools and kindergartens of Eleusis. Through interactive games, music and dance performances specially made for Eleusis 2021, students, parents and teachers worked on the main axes of the “Transition to EUphoria», spreading the message of Eleusis 2021 to the city and throughout Europe.
Aiming for a better understanding of the Mediterranean region, in cooperation with the Rowaq Al-Balqa Foundation for Arts in Jordan and the Special Vocational Highschool of Eleusis, Eleusis 2021 held an interactive workshop under the title “Environment” where students of the school had the opportunity to create works on paper, spoke with artists like the Jordanian Khaldoon Daoud and the Syrian Adi Atassi and finally to exhibit their works in one of the classrooms of the Special Vocational Highschool of Eleusis.
On their own initiative the students of High School of Magoula, as part of their participation in the first and only online school radio in our country “European School Radio”, dedicated a show to Eleusis candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2021, which will be broadcasted soon in English too.
Finally, in cooperation with the Association of people with special needs of Western Attica it was organized an open discussion at the City Hall, with the participation of the representatives of the Municipal Authority and central theme the changes that should be made in the city regarding city’s accessibility and sustainable mobility.
This week was an opportunity for the whole city to cultivate in the fertile land of Eleusis the seed of creativity, innovation and knowledge, the seed of “Transition to EUphoria”.
