People and buildings are the essential elements that shape the character of a city, a particular city like Eleusis where one can find buildings οf great importance for Greece’s unique ancient and industrial cultural heritage.
Although for those who live and are walking around the neighborhoods of Eleusis, it is not always easy to recognize the buildings from photos. The young explorers of the Summer Campaign “Become an explorer of the world” that is taking place in Aeschylean Municipal Library decided to create postcards with important buildings-monuments of Eleusis through an identification game of our city buildings, so that everyone can easily recognize them from now on!
For the last five years, the Aischylean Municipal Library of Eleusis, has been participating in the Summer Campaign for the promotion of readership and creativity. This campaign at first was organized by Future Library, a non-profit organization, and then by the National Library of Greece, in order to give children the opportunity to discover new ways of expression, to invent new means of entertainment and to experiment in different approaches to Knowledge.
The Summer Campaign 2016 is dedicated to the concept of exploring. The exploration is carried out in 125 public and municipal libraries throughout Greece, taking part in a universal game that is highlighting keen explorers and at the same time is creating new opportunities for collaboration and communication between libraries, as centers of knowledge and creativity in each community.
