A work of urban scenography and social art: the red carpet updates the myth of Persephone with its mystical appearance-disappearance and the ritual of its movements as the participants take it from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Actions will follow each transition at the place of arrival.

Among the tall trees of Oasis, the site-specific theatrical performance explores and narrates an underlit part of Greek history. The participants share the story of their family: the younger ones as they were told it and the older ones as they lived it.

The Dresden Symphony Orchestra, one of Europe’s leading contemporary music orchestras, will fill the skies of Elefsina with notes. The musical compositions created or arranged for 2023 Eleusis, combined with impressive original works from the past, will be performed within the unique settings of the city.

Five years after the creation of the installation Photosynaxis in Ano Elefsina, pre-existing and new lighting elements will appear in a new composition forming an illuminated mural in the area of the IRIS factory in a process of creative reuse.

The subject of the installation is the Arvanites of Elefsina and their relations with other Arvanites, such as those from Corinth and Mandra. The work takes the idiomatic expression “Oh So Now Eleusis Is Growing Wheat!” as its point of departure and highlights the relationship with speaking in the context of contemporary Elefsina.
