Neoklis Mantas was born in the de-industrialized Volos of eighties. He is an Urbanist with a master’s degree in urban and cultural geographies (Master of Arts “Cities & Cultures”, Queen Mary University of London). In 2020, he successfully defended his PhD thesis named “Emerging oneirotopias in contemporary city: in the quest of metamodern urban identity and image through the cinematic palimpsest”. He has worked in the field of cultural and creative industries (Communications Executive Michael Cacoyannis Foundation) and he is member of the scientific team of Laboratory of Tourism Planning, Research and Policy (LaReTour: Final BidBook of Eleusis 2021, Marketing Plans for Greek Cities, Interreg Project CULTURE+). His scientific interests are: Urban Image and Identity, Place Μarketing and Branding, Cinematic Cities, Tourism and Cultural Planning, Metamodern Imaginative Geographies.
