On Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 8:00 p.m, the Thriasio Pedio Volunteers Association will organise the symbolic lighting of the Old Town Hall (Nikolaidou Pedestrian Street), sending a resounding message for the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.
The Old Town Hall is part of the archaeological site at Nikolaidou pedestrian street, and the building is a landmark for the city of Elefsina, as well as one of the most important legacy projects that will be left to the city by the institution of the ECoC. The aim is for the building to become a reference point for the residents of Elefsina and the surrounding areas, as well as for visitors to the city, both during the ECoC title year and after its completion, when it will become the property of the Municipality of Elefsina until 2040.
As part of the European Capital of Culture, it is already the central hub of Eleusis 2023, hosting an Information Point and very soon the Ticket Office and the Shop of the institution, while the building’s first floor will be transformed into an impressive space that will host the Documentation Centre and a meeting, exhibition and presentation area.
