The 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, the Municipality of Elefsina, the cultural production and management company MENTOR, and the Universities of the Aegean and Patras, in collaboration with 10 other partners from Italy, Ireland, Spain, and Belgium, invite you to two unique community engagement events on Monday 22 July and Friday 26 July 2024, at the Canteen Art Hub, at 18:30.
Participatory Design and Citizen Engagement
Central to HeritACT’s approach is the involvement of local communities and stakeholders in the design and decision-making processes. This is achieved through the use of a set of digital tools and participatory methods that are encapsulated in the HeritACT Toolkit. Tools like the ParticiMap, NegoDesign, and DesignYourHeritage facilitate dialogues with local communities, enable participatory co-design processes, and provide platforms for collaborative geodesign methods, enabling the community and stakeholders to come together, collaborate, and reimagine urban spaces.
A few words about the funding program
With a total budget of €95.5 billion, the central goal of the European Union’s Horizon 2021-2027 program is to maximize the scientific, economic, and social impact of EU investments in research and innovation. The program is built on the values of the New European Bauhaus, a think tank of ideas and proposals for sustainable urban development, following the principles of the European Green Deal (2020).
HeritACT is implemented within the thematic area “Culture, creativity, and inclusive society,” aiming both to achieve European goals and priorities related to strengthening democratic governance and citizen participation, and to protect and promote European cultural heritage through social, economic, technological, and cultural transformations.
