Andreadis, the Eleusinian myth, Demeter, the Daughter, the cement, the beehive of shells, the unknown immigrants, Sikelianos, the silence, the chthonic and the refinery, the Telesterion and the small church of Panagitsa, are the words that coexist, as if by chance, in the «body» of the Eleusinian land, but in the present time become the tools and the means in the contemplative search of the young creators.
In the cultural center Leonidas Kanellopoulos, which is full of memories and symbolisms, the artists attempt a multi-layered reading of the historical and contemporary aspects of Elefsina, from antiquities to the industrial past and society, seeking new interpretations of the city’s cultural landscape.
The exhibition opens a window to the future through the enclaves of the past, while at the same time conversing with the lost expectations and the changes of today through the constant effort to renew aesthetic forms.
