Eleusis 2021 supports the project ‘Third Paradise: back to the human rebirth’, submitted by Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto in the call for the Creative Europe Programme under the theme ‘Support for Refugee Intergration’.
The general objective of this call for proposals is to support cultural and cross-sectorial projects aiming at facilitating the integration of refugees in the European environment, enhancing mutual cultural understanding and fostering intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, tolerance and respect for other cultures.
The project Third Paradise: back to the human rebirth was proposed by Cittadellarte –Fondazione Pistoletto, Italy together with Canakkale Biennial, Turkey and Polyplanity Productions, Greece. The framework of this project is to implement an artistic- cultural work through workshops, exhibitions, performances etc. across Europe following the Pistoletto Third Paradise and promoting the social integration of refugees in Europe.
Eleusis 2021 encouraged the partnership between Cittadellarte –Fondazione Pistoletto and Polyplanity Productions, a result of an already existing collaboration between Eleusis 2021 and the Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto.
Eleusis 2021 is sharing the philosophy of Third Paradise, this different approach of the role of art in contemporary society that is inspiring us to develop initiatives to the same direction in our city. Our program under the central idea ‘Transition to Euphoria’ is highlighting the relationship between sustainability and the connection of all human activities with art and culture and Cittadellarte is a European pioneer to this direction.
Polyplanity has established SYNERGY-O, a cultural space where in collaboration with the NGO Amaka are hosting both cultural and social activities for vulnerable groups (homeless people, refugees, immigrants, etc) and have obtained the right art and drama therapy tools to encourage the refugees’ social integration. As far as the third partner is concerned, the Canakkale Biennial is an International Art Biennale and its 5th edition is dedicated to the notion of Migration in the broader context of nation-homeland.
