The ELEVSIS Innovation Lab by 2023 Eleusis has found a new home! Now located on the ground floor of 8 Laskou Street, it welcomes creative minds of all ages. In this dynamic workshop space, both young and old can explore the fascinating world of digital fabrication, experimenting with 3D printing, electronics creation, ceramics, and even digital embroidery.

As a valuable legacy for Elefsina, the lab serves as a vibrant hub for learning and networking among students, professionals, and amateurs alike. Its mission is to introduce the public to contemporary design and manufacturing technologies, the possibilities of self-production, and to bridge traditional crafts with innovation. Through applied education in contemporary manufacturing and artistic production, with an emphasis on digital technologies, it aspires to be a structure open to all citizens. A place to learn, imagine, and create almost anything.

Educational Programs at the Innovation Lab

The first series of 3D printing workshops is already underway, with more than 150 6th-grade and Vocational High School students having participated so far. Additionally, an intergenerational 3D printing workshop titled “Learning Together” is about to begin, welcoming children, teenagers, and adults over 60 years old.
The activities are being implemented by the experienced team from the TUC TIE Lab of the Technical University of Crete, based on a methodology called “Ekpedotopoi” (Learning Sites) that the lab has developed. This is part of a series of workshops aimed at bringing people of all ages into contact with design thinking, participatory design, and maker culture, with 3D printing as the main tool.

Next, ceramic workshops for primary school children and adults will be launched, under the guidance of the Elefsinian ceramist and pottery painter Athanasios Katsaras – AMASIS | painter ceramic studio gallery, utilizing the lab’s state-of-the-art equipment.

More details and participation information will be announced soon!

The project “EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS EΛEVΣΙΣ INNOVATION LAB” is realised in the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” with funding from the European Union – Next GenerationEU.
