In a festive atmosphere and with the participation of a large crowd, the Carnival events organized by the Municipality of Elefsina in collaboration with the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture took place on Saturday 22 February, and Sunday 23 February, in Magoula and Elefsina. The streets of the city were filled with colors, smiles, and a celebratory mood, creating a unique festive scene. Carnival participants, live music, and recreational activities provided moments of joy and entertainment for all ages.
On Saturday 22 February, the grand carnival parade in Magoula excited the attendees with the creativity and colorful costumes of the participants. Students from local schools and community groups took part in the parade, filling the city with cheer, while the festive atmosphere was heightened by the live music of the band Flamingos the Band.
The events reached their peak on Sunday, February 23, in Elefsina’s central square, where the public participated in an all-day celebration. Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy creative activities and traditional customs that revived the festive spirit of the Carnival, while the Elefsina Municipal Philharmonic musically framed the event.
