The project in a few words:
The Grand Bolero is a co-production of two of the most important dance centers in Spain, the Madrilenian Teatros del Canal and the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona. The work brings us to a new dimension of Ravel’s famous composition. In this choreography, six dancers from Madrid and six dancers from Barcelona dance with devotion, redefining the musical score composed by Ravel in 1928 as an orchestral copy of a traditional Spanish dance. The Grand Bolero is a project for the effort and pleasure of resistance. A persistent choreography for the thin line that separates enjoyment from exhaustion, a dance that celebrates the time and space we share.
