The 1st phase of the evaluation of the proposals submitted in the framework of the Open Call addressed by Eleusis 2023 European Capital of Culture during the period from 11 February to 14 April 2021 has been completed. All participants will be informed immediately via email about the progress of their proposal.
A total of 1598 proposals from 47 countries were submitted, out of which 1558 were valid, while 70% of the proposals were Greek entries. As part of the thorough evaluation of all proposals by the General Artistic Directorate of ELEUSIS 2023 and due to the large number of entries, the 1st phase lasted a total of one hundred and eighty (180) days, far exceeding the initial planning, as it was deemed necessary all proposals to be evaluated diligently with equal respect and weight.
The entries that proceed to the 2nd phase of the evaluation are 779. These are the proposals which during the above initial evaluation phase were considered to be sufficiently in line with the criteria of the Open Call, and to show sufficient relevance to the Strategic objectives of the ELEUSIS 2023 artistic programme.
The proposals that will be selected during the 2nd phase of the evaluation will be included in the Artistic Programme of the ECoC in different formats of collaboration such as, in their entirety, in part, in co-production, with the support and so on. Participants may be contacted during this time for information and clarifications regarding their proposal.
It is reminded that the proposals that proceed to the 2nd phase of the evaluation ensure their possible inclusion in the ELEUSIS 2023 artistic programme as valid, appropriate and meeting the relevant criteria and objectives of the programme. In no way does this selection bind ELEUSIS 2023 for the assignment of the relevant project / action to the selected participants and the signing of respective contracts, but only starts the process of possible inclusion of these projects / actions in the ELEUSIS 2023 programme as valid, appropriate and meeting the relevant criteria and objectives of the programme.
