Eleusis 2021, represented by our communication officer, Yannis Pappas, travelled to Paris along with the communication officers of some of the most influential art festivals and cultural organisations from across 15 European countries, working with, in and for new art forms in public space.
In response to the invitation by the European Platform for Artistic Creation in Public Space IN SITU, we had the opportunity to exchange views, concerns, as well as a lot of creative and innovative ideas. During two days of interactive workshops at the welcoming space of ARTCENA – French National Centre for Circus Arts, Street Arts and Theater, we tried to identify tools to effectively communicate contemporary artists’ work in public space in the broad and diverse audience of European citizens.
Τhe European Platform for Artistic Creation in Public Space IN SITU, coordinated by the Lieux publics – Centre national de création in Marseille, France, brings together a group of European festivals and cultural centres, working with, in and for new art forms in public space. They have been working together since 2003 to develop joint European projects, promote artists, innovative productions and artistic creations, as well as organize workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.
Eleusis 2021 has developed a close and stable cooperation with IN SITU, which connects us with a significant number of artists and cultural institutions across Europe. The aim is to establish a long-term partnership with them, as well as to make Eleusis a reference point in Greece, regarding this crucial Europe-wide issue of public space.
