Shortly before the final bidbook of Eleusis’ bid as European Capital of Culture in 2021 gets submitted, it will be discussed today Tuesday, September 27th in the Eleusis City Council.
The deadline for the bidbook’s submission is Wednesday 5th of October, and its voting by the City Council is a prerequisite so that the city’s application will be accepted at the final bid phase.
Since we are still in a competitive process, the content of the final bidbook cannot be disclosed at the time and it is available only to the City Council members. The final bidbbooks of Eleusis, Kalamata and Rhodes will be published by the Ministry of Culture a few days before the final presentation of the three shortlisted cities before the Selection Committee on 10 November.

The deadline for the bidbook’s submission is on October 5 at the Ministry of Culture. On November 8, a delegation of the Selection Committee will visit Eleusis to get to know better the city, its residents and its stakeholders. On November 10, all the shortlisted cities will present their bidbooks in front of the Selection Committee. The three cities will present their bidbooks in alphabetical order, starting with the presentation of Eleusis at 10 a.m. The presentations will be held in Athens in a place designated by the Ministry of Culture. On 11 November at 12:15, the Chair of the Selection Committee will announce the winning city. The announcement will be made in Athens in a place to be named by the Ministry of Culture. The presentations of the shortlisted cities are closed to the public and carried out by a delegation of the working group of each city, but the result announcement is open to the public.
