{"id":8485,"date":"2022-07-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-17T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/the-old-town-hall-of-elefsina-opens-as-a-ticket-office-2\/"},"modified":"2022-11-18T17:05:59","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T14:05:59","slug":"the-old-town-hall-of-elefsina-opens-as-a-ticket-office-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/en\/the-old-town-hall-of-elefsina-opens-as-a-ticket-office-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Old Town Hall of Elefsina opens as a Ticket Office"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>On the occasion of the <strong>World Premiere <\/strong>of the performance <strong><em>Klytaimn\u1e17stra<\/em> <\/strong>by <strong>tg STAN<\/strong>, on <strong>July 23 &amp; 24 <\/strong>and the performance of <strong>Aeschylus&#8217; Persians<\/strong> directed by <strong>Dimitris Karantzas<\/strong> on <strong>July 30 and 31<\/strong>, which will take place as part of <strong>Mystery 35_AESCHYLUS Project<\/strong> at the <strong>Old Olive Mill Open Theater<\/strong>,\u00a0the <strong>Old City Hall of Elefsina<\/strong>, the emblematic building on the pedestrian walkway of Nikolaidou Street and part of the archaeological site, will start operating, <strong>from<\/strong> <strong>Monday the 18<sup>th<\/sup> to Friday the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> of July<\/strong>, as one of the ticketing outlets for this major production.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Old City Hall, this landmark building for the city of Elefsina and one of the most important legacy projects for the city, left behind by the ECoC, was renovated with the kind sponsorship of <strong>Metron SA.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Old City Hall<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Address: <\/strong>Pedestrian Walkway on Nikolaidou &amp; Vas. Laskou Streets, Elefsina<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Opening hours: <\/strong>Monday to Friday, 17:30 \u2013 21:30<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong><br \/>A few words about the Old City Hall<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The building of the<strong>\u00a0Old Town Hall of Elefsina\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the city\u2019s most important landmarks. It is an emblematic two-story building that \u201cWAS ERECTED AT THE EXPENSE OF THE COMMUNITY IN 1928 DURING THE PRESIDENCY OF I. THANASOULOPOULOS,\u201d as the marble inscription on its main fa\u00e7ade testifies. It is strategically located, very close to the central square of Elefsina, Iroon Square, within the archaeological site, facing the city\u2019s main pedestrian crossing, Nikolaidou Street. It is a prominent building, with exits in all directions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The building originally served as the Town Hall of Elefsina, while in 2002 it was transformed into a Vocational Training Center. In recent years, it has been used by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Western Attica as a space for the study, collection and storage of antiquities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The building\u2019s strategic location and history makes it essential that it is used as a reference center in the European Capital of Culture, as it is part of the sites that are being developed or reactivated thanks to Elefsina\u2019s assumption of the ECoC title, as well as part of the legacy programmes for the city and the wider region.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>A few words about Metron SA<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>METRON energy applications<\/strong>\u00a0was founded in Greece in 1997 to offer integrated fabrication and construction solutions in the Oil and Gas Industry.
