A special event with free entrance, which re-focused on the concept of time, including walking routes in Elefsina, an original musical performance-fruit of an original participatory process, film screening and discussion with prominent speakers.<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-8177 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-259.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-169.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Starting from the <strong>Old Refreshment Room, five (5) separate walking routes<\/strong> with great participation took place in the city. Under the guidance of the director <strong>Dimitra Loupi<\/strong> and the help of five <strong>&#8220;guides&#8221;<\/strong>, the participants photographed or recorded in silence and in a state of slowness, whatever interested them. The traces that were collected until they reached their final destination, <strong>the Courtyard of Agios Nikolaos, <\/strong>at the <strong>Archaeological Site of Elefsina, <\/strong>were dramatized under the guidance of director<strong> Marilena Katranidou <\/strong>and transformed into a guide for the musical performance in an original composition by <strong>Vassilis Mantzos<\/strong> after.<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-2' class='gallery galleryid-8177 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-354.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-362.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The night continued with the screening of the film<strong> &#8220;Journey to the West&#8221; <\/strong>(France-Taiwan, 2014), directed by <strong>Tsai Ming-liang,<\/strong> a unique wandering of a Buddhist monk in extreme slowness, in the center of modern Marseille. Immediately after, a particularly interesting discussion took place on <strong>&#8220;The time of the streets of<\/strong> t<strong>he Metropolises&#8221;<\/strong> with prominent speakers the architect <strong>Stavros Stavridis <\/strong>and the professor of philosophy <strong>Stefanos Rozanis,<\/strong> under the coordination of the director and Professor of Directing at the University of Leton.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The <strong>Night of Slowness of May <\/strong>took place as a wandering, introducing the public to the art of slowness and reducing the frantic pace of a world that moves very fast.<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-3' class='gallery galleryid-8177 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-451.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NYXTES-VRADYTHTAS-538.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>T<strong>he Nights of Slowness until today<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The event \u201c<strong>Nights of Slowness<\/strong>\u201d is part of the section of events entitled \u201c<strong>Ordinary Mysteries<\/strong>.<strong>\u201d <\/strong>It was presented for the first time in <strong>Elefsina<\/strong> in <strong>2018<\/strong>, in collaboration with the <strong>French Institute of Greece<\/strong>, as part of an annual event, dedicated to the exchange and circulation of ideas, organized by <strong>French Institutes<\/strong> all across the globe. <strong>Eleusis 2023 European Capital of Culture<\/strong> repeats and further develops the action, under the title \u201c<strong>Nights of Slowness \u2013 Discourses about Time \/ Nuits de Lenteur \u2013 A propos du Temps<\/strong>\u201d, hosting the event twice a year, under the light of the full moon, and presenting a series of original discussions featuring distinguished guests, always focusing on the concept of time. At the same time, each event is accompanied by different cultural actions.
