On the occasion of the World Poetry Day, the walls of the city, were transformed for a few hours into valuable pages, through projections of short texts, poems and phrases of medium and small scale.<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-7924 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/220329-TA_LOGIA_TON_TOIXON-STAHIS-DT-web-2.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/220329-TA_LOGIA_TON_TOIXON-STAHIS-DT-web-5.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Walking through the streets of the city, from\u00a0<strong>Synoikismos<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>Kalibaki<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Nikolaidou Pedestrian Walkway<\/strong>, residents and passers-by in Elefsina had the opportunity to encounter\u00a0<strong>war-inspired verses\u00a0<\/strong>written by\u00a0<strong>great poets<\/strong>, such as\u00a0<strong>Giorgos Seferis, T. S. Eliot, Yiannis Ritsos, Paul Celan, Odysseas Elytis, Andreas Kalvos, Dionysios Solomos, Ingeborg Bachmann, Manolis Anagnostakis, Nikos Karouzos, Markos Meskos, Aris Alexandrou, Elias Lagios,\u00a0<\/strong>and others. Describing war\u2019s brutality vividly, and sometimes bluntly, these great poets praised once again the supreme moral value that protects life itself, which is none other than\u00a0<strong>peace<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>WORDS on the WALL, these rare fragments of texts or poems, are part of the \u201c<strong>Ordinary Mysteries,<\/strong>\u201d a series of artistic actions by the ECoC, taking place in the city\u2019s public space, inviting residents and visitors of Elefsina to walk around the city and be introduced to unique and unforgettable artistic events in the public sphere. The first edition of WORDS on the WALL took place on Thursday, December 23, mostly including texts referring to the city of Elefsina itself, from the 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century BCE until today.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<div id='gallery-2' class='gallery galleryid-7924 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-full'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/220329-TA_LOGIA_TON_TOIXON-STAHIS-DT-web-3.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/2023eleusis.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/220329-TA_LOGIA_TON_TOIXON-STAHIS-DT-web-4.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"\" \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Each action of this urban reading activates and introduces various spots in Elefsina, while reinforcing the character of the city as a stage. And while the\u00a0<strong>WORDS on the WALL\u00a0<\/strong>have a temporal frequency, each time focusing on a different theme, each of their actions ultimately composes a complete work.
